Season Two Wrap Up

On The Kush Nurse Season 2, we had a chance to speak to cannabis nurses working in the industry. Covid-19 and the pandemic made it clear; cannabis is essential medicine. We have even prioritized cannabis workers to access vaccinations before teachers.

From talking to kids about cannabis to navigating your own child as a cannabis patient this season helps us see how cannabis has become an integral part of healthcare. No matter the need or condition, cannabis remains a privileged medicine accessible by few and highly ignored by many healthcare providers.

Patients still struggle with employment protections as medical cannabis patients. Many may lose employment for choosing cannabis as medicine. We need significant education in our government and healthcare systems to continue to see forward momentum.

We learned of the challenges many healthcare providers, nurses especially, face when choosing a career in cannabis. From advocacy to transforming patient’s health; nurses are changing and paving the way for cannabis care.

The challenges and federal laws continue to create barriers for cannabis to be accessible, affordable and even an option discussed by providers but we’ve seen great strides with the state by state legalization. Will federal legislation be in our near future? We’ll be back next season and hopeful for policy changes to benefit all.

Next season we’ll talk with cannabis patients and hear their stories of how cannabis has helped changed their health and the challenges of choosing plant medicine.

I like the consistency of daily microdosing. A little pat of butter goes a long way. 10mg ish because as much as we like to measure it’s impossible to get it exact in my opinion.

Do you canna butter?
I put this in my coffee and it’s perfection.
Also melted on toast, or cooking my scrambled 🍳, on my 🍿 or as one friend so happily shared melted on ice cream it turns into the best crunchy salty goodness ever. 🤤

Meditation Monday! How do you find the calm?

I hear so often people tell me they can’t meditate or they can’t quiet their mind. I absolutely know what you mean. It took some time to get to meditation bliss. Cannabis has helped significantly. It calms my mind, quiets the to do list and let’s me relax into my breath.

The first step in my meditation practice is some intentional cannabis inhales and exhale. While I settle in to my seat. I do love a good sitting meditation but also have found it very therapeutic to lie with my eye mask on and let the sound take me on a deeper journey.

Once I’m relaxed and settled in...I try to imagine white light pouring into me and also emanating from me.

When or if my mind starts to wander I return to my breath and see myself breathing in the white light and breathing out that powerful energy.

If you are needing help with your meditation practice join us next Monday. We start off with our intention and a journal prompt followed by a deep sound journey you can breathe into.

Common misconception is people think cannabis is a one hit wonder. If you are treating a condition or managing symptoms with cannabis you may have to take it just as often as your pharmaceuticals. Check out the @dothepot Podcast episode where I get to share about microdosing cannabis. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
